02, 2021:
RD2 nh2fs v 5G|8L What more
could anyone ask for. We saw a tie-game end up
decided by a single point, a blowout in game 2, followed
by a team getting out-worked by the season favorites.
5G8L let a 3 cap lead evaporate late in game 1, but
managed to lure red to their side for some important
frags, with a single kill deciding the game in favor of
5g8l.
Game 2 was a hot-mess for 5g8l as they get mercy-ruled
11-3. Game 3 proved too much for an exhausted 5g8l
- nh2fs come away with another 2 points
Next Up: Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 -
5G|8L
v. [ME] - Round 1.
Nov. 01, 2021:
RD3 YkY.mf v [ME]
Team [ME] didn't dwell on their Round 2 loss to nh2fs
last week as they took it to YkY.mf in their Round 3
match-up. Things remained close in Game 01, until
that momentum swung in favor of [ME] on another push for
quad that cost YkY.mf Regen and the flag. [ME] dug
in after that and came way with a 8-4 victory.
It looked like it was going to be more of the same in
Game 02, but YkY.mf mounted an impressive comeback that
was unfortunately cut short as time ran out.
Great effort by YkY.mf - [ME] comes away with 2pts.
Next Up: nh2fs vs. 5G|8L - Round 3,
Tuesday, Nov. 2nd.
[ME] came out strong right out of the gate and started
with the early leads in both matches.
Unfortunately, [ME] may have gotten a bit too confident
sending their stacked Regen/FC to support a push for
quad; it didn't end well. Pivotal moment in GM01
that quickly swung momentum to nh2fs' side as they took
the first match 9-5.
Undeterred, [ME] played nh2sf to a real tight game on
LM43, coming back strong in the end, but running out of
time.
It really was anyone's game tonight - good stuff! Next Up: Monday, Nov. 1, 2021 - YkY.mf
v. [ME] - Round 3.
Bit of a tough outing for YkY.mf tonight. Despite
the outcome, there's plenty to work with and build upon.
Things started out promising during Game 1 as YkY came
out to an early lead and looked to be holding down that
middle. They kept nh2fs at bay as long as they
could, but eventually, nh2fs managed to regain the
middle, tech possession, and momentum that carried-over
into Game 02. them to swift victory on GM02.
nh2fs grab the W on the night and look ahead to face-off
vs. [ME].
Next Up: [ME] v. nh2fs - Round 2.
Friday, October 29th.
It was a night of redemption for 5G|8L as they took it
to the team that beat them in Round 2 just last week.
Despite coming out to an early lead, YkY.mf lost
momentum soon after and 5G|8L capitalized with constant
offensive pressure.
5G|8L kept that momentum going into GM02. With
nonstop communication throughout, 5G|8L dispense with
YkY.mf roughly 13 minutes into Ride the Dragon.
They even the series 1-1. The rubber
match set for Round 8 between these 2 teams. Next Up: YkY.mf v. nh2fs - Round 1.
Wednesday, October 27th.
Couldn't get much closer than tonight's games.
YkY.mf and 5G|8L square off in a Round 2 match-up to
kick-off the Regular Season. Game 1 on SMAP17
ended in a tie with YkY.mf taking the W on points.
A few costly mistakes by 5G|8L's FC in the middle of
Game 2 is all it took to shift momentum over to YkY.mf.
There wasn't enough time for 5G|8L to recover as they
fall 2-1.
No Redemption Option was exercised and YkY.mf grabs 2
pts to start the Regular Season.
October 18, 2021:
Pre-Season Round.
YkY got a bit of everything tonight during their
Pre-Season Round. Game 1 was a back-n-forth
affair, but Franken-Team snuck in a cap just as the
countdown ended to take the W.
Things got a bit out of hand early in Game 2.
Despite showing signs of life towards the end, YkY.mf
never recovered.
Then it looked like YkY was running away with it in Game
3, but 5G|8L were not about to lose again on that shit
map.
With Pr-Season out of the way, Season 8 has officially
begun! Good luck to all teams.
With schedule conflicts delaying a proper Pre-Season Round between [ME]
and YkY.mf for over 2 weeks, it was decided [ME] would
play their round against mix team of 5 players.
Game 1 remained close, and despite the scores in Games 2 and 3, there's
much to be happy about with [ME]'s play. They
mounted some impressive come-backs and had plenty of
dominating moments that they'll look to build upon
throughout the regular season.
Next up: Team Shloo to schedule a similar
Pre-Season Round event.
We wasted no time getting right into the action after
the Draft. V's team squared off against Majesty's
squad in a pre-season match up.
Games 1 and 2 couldn't get much closer as each team
performed well enough to grab wins. Game 3 went
well only for V's team who just kept capping and
capping. It's a long season, plenty of time to
lick the wounds and figure things out.
Next up will be Pre-Season games between shloo and Maxim's
teams.
Draft Night:
We've scheduled the draft for Monday,
October 11th at 9pm EST.
Once the draft is completed, if we have enough
players from two teams present, we'll run
through a Pre-Season Round "Game Night" for
those two teams. If not, perhaps we'll get
a couple games in.
In any event, I'm so looking forward to kicking
things off. Should be another great
season.
Next up on the
agenda will be finalizing the draft round pick
orders and scheduling the draft.
The draft will be scheduled based on the 4
Captains' availability and will be made public
once a date is set. Players will be welcomed /
encouraged to attend if they can, however, the
draft will not be rescheduled unless a Captain
has a conflict.
Once teams are picked, players will be contacted
by their respective Captains. You will be asked
to confirm the best ways to reach you for
scheduling / confirmation purposes, and in case
someone needs to wake your ass up if you fall
asleep on game night. Kidding aside, if
discord's not your cup of tea and you're okay
providing a cell phone #s to your captain,
please do. - it's really important that you're
reachable.
After teams are formed, Captains will work
towards scheduling the "Pre-Season Round". This
first round is a trial run. It has no bearing on
the regular season, so teams can decide on
exercising rights they would normally have (i.e.
the no-tech option and the redemption option)
during their best of 3 Pre-Season Game Night.

September 22, 2021:
It's
been about a year since Season 7 came to a close. It's about time we
start planning for another.
The Beatdown is a Q2 LMCTF
draft-style league for committed fans looking
for serious 5v5 competitive play.
The league will consist of a 10 Session regular
season followed by a double elimination playoffs
to determine the Season 8 champs.
While the general ideas of past Seasons will
carry-on into this next event, Season 8 will
bring a number of changes, which should make
things a bit more interesting; e.g.,
; best-of-three "Game Nights", Redemption
Options, No-Tech Options, cash-prize payouts,
etc . .
Registration is USD $50 per player. At the end of
Season 8, the $1,000 prize-pot will be distributed as
follows:
(i) $180 per player of the team winning
S-08,
(ii) $100 per player of the runner-up team,
(iii) $100 per player of the team with the most
Regular Season Points
The draft will be scheduled soon after the
close of registration and Captains will begin scheduling
their Round 1 Game Nights. Please visit the
Info page for further details
on the league; otherwise, if you have any specific questions, feel
